Tile Counter is a fairly simple program for the discriminating graphics hackers out there. You give the program the file you wish to read, indicate what format the graphics are in, and Tile Counter will count the number of unique tiles it finds and output the number of tiles.
It can also output a crunched up version of the file with all of the repeats (including horizontally- and vertically-flipped copies) blanked out. When this is done, the first instance of a tile with duplicates retains its position in the file.
