For some unknown reason, the site claimed my account doesn’t exist, so I recreated it using my E-mail and wanted to check if a small edit works just as fine.

Due to the fact that CajeASM hasn't been updated by me for many years, still has some odd bugs regarding instruction counter and due to the fact that (nowadays) better alternatives exist now, I've decided to delete this tool from this website. An alternative assembler I can recommend is bass, currently maintained by ARM9. To be found here: https://github.com/ARM9/bass

Upon further play, I discovered this hack broke an integral system to the game (the dash function).

GIMP ROM image file plugin

Graphics Editors

Description:

A GIMP file plugin for reading/writing/converting ROM images and bin image (tile) files.

Supported file extensions:

  • .bin
  • .chr (nes 2bpp)
  • .nes (nes 2bpp)
  • .gb (gb 2bpp)

Supported image formats:

  • NES 1bpp / 2bpp
  • SNES 2bpp / 3bpp / 4bpp / 8bpp
  • GB 2bpp
  • NGP 2bpp
  • GBA 4bpp / 8bpp
  • GG/SMS/WSC 4bpp
  • MD 4bpp

Build available for:

  • Linux
  • Windows

This allows for a convenient workflow when already using gimp, instead of having to use an additional utility to convert to and from formats such as PNG. It can also be useful for tile extraction.

The plugin is open source, feedback and suggestions are welcome.

Image size: ROMs and tile files that are not an even multiple of tile width will get padded with transparent pixels at the end of the image, and have any trailing data stored as gimp image metadata. The plugin will attempt to preserve original file size and integrity as much as possible. Setting transparent pixels (in tiles) at the end of the image to non-transparent will cause those tiles to get written to the file and therefore increase the file size. Be careful.
