This time, Klonoa will wield weapons and, with the aid of bounty hunter Guntz and pyrotechnician Pango, plow through obstacles and enemies alike! Utilize the three characters’ abilities to clear visions! Customize their strength gauges using “Custom Points” obtained from leveling up!

This is a full translation for Klonoa Heroes: Densetsu no Star Medal. All cutscene dialogue is translated, as are all villager interactions, items, menus, and shopkeeper dialogue. Players will be able to understand the game’s story up through the end, including the bonus cutscenes, with this hack.

Two versions of the translation patch have been included: a regular patch that keeps the original game’s EEPROM save feature, and an SRAM patch that modifies the game to save SRAM data instead, the latter of which is intended for use on hardware (flash carts, Virtual Console, etc.) that won’t run the regular patched ROM. If the latter doesn’t work for you, instructions for patching the non-SRAM version of the ROM have been included in the readme.

A list of currently known compatible and unsupported hardware has been provided in the readme - if anyone can verify that the regular and/or SRAM patched ROMs work or don’t work on a piece of hardware not on the list, feel free to leave a review, and the readme will be updated accordingly.

This patch file can be applied to a standard, non-intro Klonoa Heroes ROM using this website’s online patcher. This hack should be used with an unaltered copy of the Japanese ROM. The MD5 checksum is provided.
