Super Mario World

Super Nintendo

Game Description:

Super Mario World is the SNES continuation of the NES SMB 2D style platforming series that we all know and love. Some people even refer to it as Super Mario Bros 4.

Like in Super Mario Bros 3, you have a world map, and you can walk up to a level on the map and enter it. One cool thing about the world map that wasn’t a thing in SMB3 was that all of the worlds are interconnected, and you can travel to each on the map. In SMB3, once you beat a world, you never saw it again. In fact, once you beat a LEVEL, you never saw it again! In Mario World, you can replay any level you want! Except for the switch palaces and boss levels.

This game unfortunately doesn’t have a ton of power-ups like in Mario 3. The two main power-ups in Mario 3 were Raccoon Mario and Fire Mario, but you also had the Frog Suit, Tanooki Suit, and the Hammer Suit. This game only has two main power-ups; Fire Mario and Cape Mario, but let me tell you, you’re going to have a loooot of fun with Cape Mario. You can fly through levels without even having to come down, unlike Raccoon Mario! But in this game, you get something that’s not exactly a power-up, but it’s the most awesome (and cutest) thing in the world; YOSHI!!! (I love you, you adorable dinosaur, you)!

There are many secret exits that you can find, using a key, and placing it into a key hole in a level. These exits lead to more levels that you can play, and sometimes even Star Road, which is the equivalent of warp zones/whistles.

So yeah, this game offers a lot of new things, and a ton of more things that I haven’t mentioned, but why should I spoil any more? If you haven’t played this game, you’re only committing the crime of the century! Go play it, it’s so much fun!
