Kaite Tsukutte Asoberu Dezaemon

Super Nintendo

Game Description:

This is a really nifty “game.” It allows you to create your own shooter game using a menu-driven interface (and a Snes Mouse, if you have one). It is incredibly flexible, and the games you can make are solid–I’d say that they closely resemble Blazing Lazers for TG16 or even Space Megaforce. You have to use Snes9x for this one, currently, as it has some features not supported yet in ZSNES. If you have the urge to create a shooter game, why not give Dezaemon a whirl?

Translation Description:

This patch will not run on the GoodSNES verified ROM of Dezaemon (in fact, the [T-Eng] version crashes at the first screen.. way to go Cowering), and requires a bad checksum ROM that is very difficult to find (because, naturally, it isn’t in GoodSNES). Version 1.41 of SNES9x finally fixes Dezaemon’s SRAM issues, so hopefully soon we’ll have a new patch that will be playable on the good ROM.

UPDATE (7/7/2010):

The bad checksum rom has been added to GoodSNES 2.04–in fact, there’s 2 versions of the rom that both seem to work fine with this patch:

Dezaemon - Kaite Tsukutte Asoberu (J) [h1]

Dezaemon - Kaite Tsukutte Asoberu (J) [h1+C]

Since both seem to work fine, I can’t tell which one is the rom that Gideon Zhi used when making his patch, so if you have any problems after patching one of them, then try patching the other one.

However, make sure the rom has NO HEADER before you patch it. If you patch a rom with a header, then the title screen will flash and flicker and the game WILL NOT run.

If your rom is 524,800 bytes, then it has a header which you need to remove with either NSRT or SNESTool.

One last thing, the translated rom listed in GoodSNES 2.04 as Dezaemon - Kaite Tsukutte Asoberu (J) [h1][T+Eng1.0_AGTP] WILL NOT work in any emulator. Seems the patch was mistakenly applied to a rom with a header (oops).

So, if you want to play this game in English, you’ll have to find a correct version of the Japanese rom and patch it yourself.

UPDATE (8/12/2018):

There is now a fixed patch that works on the original ROM.
