Fire Emblem Gaiden

Nintendo Entertainment System

Game Description:

This is the first sequel to the classic Fire Emblem series, and follows the old Nintendo tradition of having the sequels do something entirely different. It adds a world map, removes weapon endurance, and adds towns similar to an old Final Fantasy game. While the original game never left Japan, a 3DS remake (called Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia) indeed crossed the Pacific.

Translation Description:

July 5th 2007 Addendum - Starwolfs’s Addendum Patch was released Feb 11, 2006. This is a reparation which fixes various issues with J2E’s translation patch. This is an unofficial addendum patch. It should be applied on top of an already patched ROM.

All the dialogue has been translated, but there’s a lot of stuff that’s missing, a lot of bugs which may or may not be due to emulation, and a lot of stuff that is just plain wrong (it’s spelled THIEF dammit). Some of the translations for the battle text are missing, which makes me wonder why a patch was even released in the first place. Ah well, it’s not my project now is it.
