Description:
The purpose of Final Fantasy III Tweaks is to fix some problems the original NES game had but without affecting the gameplay too much. Some translation problems were also fixed. Also, some changes were ported from Sertiana’s unreleased hack.
Features:
QOL improvements:
- You’ll randomly get potions or phoenix downs after defeating most enemies.
- Press B to dash.
- An improved battle interface.
- Capacity points are no longer required to change jobs.
- You no longer need to manually remove a character’s equipment if you want to change their job unless you don’t have space for the items.
- Two optional patches to remove/tone down flashing effects.
Changes to jobs, weapons and spells:
- Most jobs’ stats were boosted a little bit.
- White Mages can now equip bows and arrows instead of Black Mages.
- Mystic Knights are now a Knight + Black Mage hybrid.
- Bells, Harps and the Holy Lance were buffed.
- All arrows are now also wind elemental and are cheaper.
- Most spells were buffed so now magic is stronger.
- The dummied-out Hammer and Dream Harp are now available as the Viking and Bard’s ultimate weapons.

Awesome collection of QoL and Tweaks
Reviewed By: jmd6488 on 01 Feb 2023This is a nice, clean package that makes FFIII NES enjoyable and stable. It combines the best to date translation with straightforward updates to the gameplay. I love the idea of giving the white mage the bow and arrow! I’m looking forward to seeing what updates come in the future.
As an interesting side note: T92’s work is 100% compatible with Maeson’s new UI frames, sprite tweaks, and save anywhere function. Best of both worlds.
