Mahou Kishi Rayearth

Game Boy

Game Description:

This is game is the standard-issue Dragon Quest Clone with Magic Knight Rayearth wrapped around it. You may recognize MKR as an anime, an SNES game, and a Saturn game put out by Working Designs on the Eastern side of the Pacific. It’s pretty standard, as far as Dragon Quest Clones go. You play one, you’ve played them all. Of course, this game adds some flavor to the mixture by using a very loose and humorous plot along with memorable characters. All in all, this is as decent a game as any.

Translation Description:

This is a complete English translation of Magic Knight Rayearth for the Game Boy.

Tiny quirky RPG with plenty of personality

Reviewed By: Tsukiyomaru0 on 08 Jan 2023

And now we can finally understand it too! It’s not a very complex RPG, there aren’t any underlying mechanics, nor a big world to explore, just three mini-worlds filled with events involving the personality of each of the three Magic Knights, in a lone quest to reunite and escape a painting set up by Zagato as a trap.

Without this translation we would be left in the dark in a bit of a wild roam, alongside with being oblivious to the small jokes that happens and interactions with NPCs and puzzles, but thankfully this translation does a great job clearing all that up and letting us enjoy this small slice of a plot.

If anyone needs an advice, here it is: Grind before you leave each character’s area. Doesn’t take much to max level. and it will all be worth in the final boss.
