The new v1.1 script is a huge improvement. Although still a bit unrefined, character dialogue is understandable and the story comes across easily thanks to the new translation. The font remains hard to parse, but doesn’t impede the playability of this patch.

Thanks to the author’s work in making these improvements, I can finally recommend this translation.

It’s easy to see from the description that a lot of care was put into hacking the game, with some great fundamental changes made to the font size and routines.

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to recommend this translation because the script is filled with stilted English and grammatical errors. In some cases, letters aren’t capitalized at the beginning of a sentence or it lacks punctuation in ending one. At its worst, lines are completely nonsensical. Within minutes of starting the game, Ackman retorts, “Well, since I deal with people… I don’t care about… I don’t mind about this either…”

Making matters worse are the new font graphics. Some letters are inexplicably capitalized, such as the lower case “l” appearing as “L”. Coupled with the poor script, this makes parsing the text an incredible chore.

Thanks to the backend work, I’m hopeful that the script can be revised in the future with a better English translation, but for now, it’s best to avoid this one.
