The hack is based off of CV Legends’ Japanese release which has you wielding a sword as opposed to a whip. It also offers saves which is rather nice. Visual updates include player sprites, enemy sprites, and items. That last one is a much needed change because the original game’s items made little logical sense. I used this alongside SilverX’s speedhack and had no issues at all.

One thing that caught me off guard is that the “Mud Worm” enemy has been entirely replaced by a phallus. I do not get the point of this and neither the uploader nor other reviewers have mentioned this which is mindboggling considering that the enemy type is quite frequent. I suppose someone must’ve found it amusing but I found it rather unimmersive and intrusive. It was so egregious that I almost considered forgoing this hack entirely.

I thought it was necessary to point this out in case someone is hacking this for their kids or playing on a larger screen. Still wild to see how people reviewed this game and missed this!

Does this hack made Legends a great game? No. Does it make it better? Absolutely.
