Description:
This hack is an addendum of Solid One’s Mega Man X3 Relocalization, to keep some consistency with the relocalization project for Mega Man X. These changes modify it to allow for two different versions, again the “Maverick version”, the “Irregular version” and the “Rockman version” along with consistent character text colors. Unlike the Mega Man X2 Relocalization Addendum, considerably more changes had to be made as this hack is not based on an expanded ROM. Along with that, this hack includes more of NectarHime’s relocalization script overall. That said there are still places that use Solid One’s script.
Changes
Changes in all patches
- Script changes to allow for consistency between both patches.
- In dialog Dr. Doppler, Dr. Light and Dr. Cain are labeled as “DOPPLER”, “LIGHT” and “CAIN” instead of “DR. DOPPLER” “DR. LIGHT” and “DR. CAIN” for simplicity’s sake and to allow for more room in the script overall for changes.
- Consistent character text colors… at least for the THREE whole consistent text palettes Mega Man X3 has…
Irregular version
- Maverick = Irregular, Reploid = Repliroid, Bit = Vajarila FF (V.FF), Byte = Mandarela BB (M.BB), Dopple Town = Doppel Town, and Vile = VAVA
- Eight bosses JP names restored.
Rockman version
- Includes all changes from Irregular version.
- Changes branding to Rockman branding.
Changes from 2.2
- Text changes with Vile/VAVA.
- Revised Dr. Light dialog.
- Restored relocalization only patches.
Changes from 2.1
- Changed up the dialog for Dr. Light’s capsules to be more consistent with NectarHime’s retranslation.
- Metalwario64/DarkSamus993’s title logo is included by default now. Reducing the number of patches included from five to three.
Changes from 2.0
- Text changes with Vile/VAVA.
- Changed the ending text crawl.
- Fixed bug where Zero saying “X, I’m on my way.” was at the top of the screen.
Changes from 1.0
- Rockman version of patch created.
- Eight bosses have their name changed in the Irregular version.

Great Changes, Minor Typos.
Reviewed By: BeeperoniThe3rd on 15 Oct 2022I usually almost ALWAYS replayed X3 for the gameplay and NEVER the story, which is really sad because X2, and X1, I have a blast all through out– never complained about anything about those games, but X3?… It suffers from he same issues as X2’s story, but even more so…
That was until I find this sick Relocalization Addendum! I love the dialogue changes, and it really breaths some fresh air into this game’s husk of what would be an otherwise fairly interesting story in it’s own right. Whenever I come back to play X3 I honestly have trouble trying to decide whether I want to play this, or the Zero Project. (The Zero Project just doesn’t have the nice clean dialogue changes that this patch has– and the two patches aren’t compatible.)
However, during my time playing I’ve come across maybe one or two typos that just kind of bugged me, but my memory’s a bit hazy on them to remember off the bat. Don’t let that deter you from trying this out though! This Relocalization Addendum is certainly worth your time if you’ve always wanted just a little bit more out of X3’s story!
