Golden Axe - Arcade Colors

Hack of Golden Axe

This hack changes most of the colors to make the game look more like its arcade counterpart, it also restores the liquor referenced names from the prototype version back to a few of the enemies in the cast roll and the unused SFX for the skeleton enemy when it gets hit as well.

The HivePal palette editor was used to change the colors.

A great hack, but terrible version numbering

Reviewed By: Smannesman on 27 Sep 2022

Very impressive editing and it makes a large difference in how the game looks. But the so called ‘Final’ version has been changed at least 13 times already. Using an actual number would be much more intuitive as to which version we’re on.
