Beautiful translation, unique game
Reviewed By: Ok Impala! on 27 Jun 2022The Stories of Ihatovo feels at times more like a work of art than an actual game. The stories told in this game are based on the works of Miyazawa Kenji, a famous Japanese writer born in 1896. All stories are a mix of reality and the fantastical, with talking animals, gods and trees.
The goal of the game is to experience all these stories by talking to the many residents of Ihatovo and explore several regions. This is mainly a game you play for the amazing soundtrack and the moving story bits. I really enjoyed my time with Ihatovo because of the excellent translation. The style of the translation fits the poetic nature of the stories really well, this is extremely well done by the translators.
