Description:
Super Mario Land DX is a romhack of the original Super Mario Land for the Game Boy that turns the game into a Game Boy Color game. It adds color and changes the graphics to give the game a modern look.
v2.0 (20/04/2022):
- Framerate issues have been addressed. That includes issues in the original game, especially noticeable in 3-2 (hard mode).
- Mario’s sprites have been revamped. They are mostly the same size as the originals.
- Mario’s relative position when jumping has been fixed. This was responsible for the weird collision issues in v1.0 (yeah, it wasn’t the sprites).
- Luigi has been added. He has slightly different physics.
- Old graphics are now an option. Not all graphics are unchanged, as it mostly affects the sprites, but this should be good enough for people who didn’t like the new ones.
- A shortcut to difficult mode has been added.
- New palette for Superball Mario/Luigi.
- New animation for Super Mario/Luigi when looking up.
- New animation for Super Mario/Luigi when entering a pipe.
- Options menu added to accommodate the new options.
- Battery added to permanently save your options, top score and level selection.
- Every single stage’s colors have been tweaked.
- An incompatibility screen for the original Game Boy has been added.
- Hundreds of minor (and not so minor) changes and fixes.

SMLDX 2.0 a great hack perfectly polished and worked with care and dedication
Reviewed By: nj180grados on 21 Apr 2022I have played this new version 2.0 of 2022 and in a word: sensational.
The hack was already good previously and had a great dedication in the colorization and adaptation work, but now, in addition to polishing the previous errors, we have two graphic modes: the original (which many of us asked for in color) and the new and renewed one, which is also now better stylized, especially the character of Mario, who is not so stubborn. As if that were not enough, we have the possibility to choose between these graphic modes from a new options menu and as an extra we can now play with Luigi!
I love the ability to choose to play on hard mode.
The game now feels complete, well finished and very enjoyable for all tastes! It is noted that the author has taken into account the requests of the people.
So for my part my congratulations for such a great job. Thank you for making it possible to have these Mario Land Saga titles in color! I would just like to ask the author to get with the latest installment (and first of Wario) Wario Land Super Mario Land 3 in color! It would be sensational if the same author did it to complete the saga and above all because of how well worked his hacks are.
