Medarot: Kabuto Version is an role playing game for the Game Boy.
Translation Description:
An Americanized localization of Medarot 1 (original “pure” translation can be found here).
Specifically, this changes several things to match the English dub and removes capitalization of things that aren’t proper nouns (and should instead be treated as just ‘normal words’ in the Medabots universe):

The IPS files without ‘portrait’ appended are a translation of the original games, which have dialog that can be hard to follow at times. The portrait versions take the portraits from the WonderSwan version and apply them to most dialog to help make it easier to follow. We recommend playing the portrait versions, even though they may not have portraits on all dialog (yet).

Reviewed By: PowerPanda on 14 Mar 2022I’ve played through the first half hour, and everything is working well so far. I am surprised at how fun the battles were. I can only imagine how cool this game would have been if I had played it on the Gameboy back in the day.
This hack updates the existing English script to localize it with accepted terminology (ie - Medabot instead of Medarot). But it goes further than that, adding in portraits for the characters. This elevates the experience, and is highly recommended. I was planning on only checking this out for a little bit, but this hack does such a good job that I think I might continue.
