Persona 2: Innocent Sin

PlayStation

Game Description:

Innocent Sin is the first part of the Persona 2 duology, of which, is a sequel to the original Persona. Before the release of the PSP remake in 2011, Innocent Sin used to have the reputation as the only untranslated entry in the Persona series, despite Atlus USA bringing Eternal Punishment (the second part) to America in 2000.

Carried by 1999 Japanese role-playing mechanics, Innocent Sin revolves around a group of High School students that must stop the villain known as “Joker” that’s causing rumors to become reality and creating havoc.

Translation Description:

This patch includes:

  • 100% translated and edited dialogues;
  • A custom patching program, similar to Tales of Phantasia’s;
  • Lag reduction on Ps2, making the game more stable and enjoyable;
  • Total compatibility with real hardware;
  • Fixes to some of the original bugs (check the read-me for more info);

Version 1.0a fixes all the issues with the save/load menu on real hardware. It also contains some typo corrections for text in Seven Sisters.

This patch currently does not support the white label “PlayStation The Best” edition of the game.

A quality translation that surpassed my expectations

Reviewed By: Cooligno2631 on 14 Nov 2021

This translation patch, not only surpassed my expectations but the quality of it it’s so impressive that I will say it’s better than official localization made for the PSP version, the script is amazing and it’s clear that everything was done with so much care to detail, but not everything is perfect, there are some minor nitpicks I have like the name of the skill “Nova Sizer” but since it’s a literal translation of the Japanese name I don’t see really an issue, there are some bugs like some textures getting weird sometimes but it doesn’t really affect the experience or cause any damage to the save and it’s mostly because of the emulator I used, since the patch was made to be played in real hardware. I greatly reccomend this patch if you want to experience the greatness of Innocent Sin, play it, you won’t regret it. To think this was made in two years by only two guys, amazing job.
