Great fix, remember to layer this patch on top of the old one

Reviewed By: rhinofinger on 28 Oct 2021

Tested the first few levels, and this fix patch works well on both emulator (retropie) and real hardware (via Everdrive). It’s not super clear from the instructions, but you need to first apply FroggestSpirit’s color hack patch, and THEN apply minucce’s fix patch (this hack) on top of that.

Note that only the levels are colorized, not the title screen or menus, so don’t be concerned if you boot it up and don’t see color right away.

By the way, FroggestSpirit’s color hack patch comes with both “standard” and a “faster” variants. I highly recommend the “standard” (NOT “faster”) version. I tried both, and the “faster” one seems to result in game speeds that are a bit all over the place, from slightly faster than standard in some bits to way faster than standard in other ones. Noticed this both on emulator and real hardware.

In any case, excellent work fixing this!
