Super Metroid: Unstuck - Unlock Tourian Doors

Hack of Super Metroid

Description:

Have you saved your game in Super Metroid but are stuck in the final area: Tourian?

This simple improvement hack will unlock the 2 doors which prevent you from back travelling. As the final save point is normally after the 2 locked doors, this will now allow you to use it safely and allow back travel to Crateria.

Note: This will also work for existing save files. For save states you must load the state, then save the game at a designated save point and reload the game (a save state will load the old doors).

ROM / ISO Information:

  • Super Metroid (Japan, USA) (En,Ja).sfc

Works perfectly, compatible with Control Freak. Must Have!

Reviewed By: Jacksaur on 04 Sep 2021

This hack + Control Freak perfects the Super Metroid experience in my opinion. Having played through the series gradually, I’d planned to go back to each one again once I was finished to 100% them all. Finding out that you were permanently locked in Tourian after saving was a blow, but this hack fixes that perfectly. The cutscene doesn’t even replay or anything.

Now you can finally complete the game whenever you want, and then go back to look for any missed collectibles in your own time afterwards.
