Game Description:
Tomato Adventure is a role playing game for the Game Boy Advance.
Players control DeMille through the Ketchup Kingdom with the objective of saving his girlfriend, Patharan, and the Ketchup Kingdom itself from King Abira by obtaining the missing parts of a robot that can give anyone access into the Gimmick Palace, a tower with a tomato on it.
The game features no random encounters; enemies are openly visible on the screen, and you enter battles by bumping DeMille into them.
Translation Description:
This is an unofficial translation of Tomato Adventure, a Japanese RPG released in 2002 on the Game Boy Advance. Tomato Adventure was developed by AlphaDream and involved some staff from Super Mario RPG.
This translation covers:
- Variable width font used throughout.
- Character name length increased from 4 to 7 characters.
- Menus, dialog, and all text translated.
- Graphics containing Japanese replaced.
- Some menus have been adjusted to allow more space for text.
v1.1.0 includes some minor typo cleanup and doubles the text drawing speed.

A fun romp
Reviewed By: zoinknoise on 02 Sep 2021Play this if you are interested in seeing the origins of AlphaDream, who of course went on to do the “Mario & Luigi” series of games after this, before sadly closing up shop a few years ago. This was their second game and first GBA game, and it’s an adorable, charming RPG obviously aimed at the younger crowd. It’s always nice to see a kid’s game with an original IP, instead of being based on a toy or cartoon.
This game is REALLY easy and tries hard never to frustrate the player, so anyone who’s played a few JRPG’s before won’t break a sweat while playing this one. The translation was obviously done with love and embraces the nonsensical nature of the plot. Overall, this is a perfect RPG for anyone who has never played one before. If you HAVE played an RPG before, you will want to try this one anyway if you enjoy fun, bright, quirky games.
