Good translation, perfectly playableReviewed By: easter on 04 Jul 2021
I just finished a playthrough of the single player game with the main character Welt. I have no experience with other characters, post-game content, or multiplayer.
The translation was good. There is A LOT of dialogue in this game, and the translators did a good job translating the story complexities of a JRPG from this era. As noted, some of the “encyclopedia” entries on the HQ/ship are still in Japanese. All of the dialogue from the trainer NPCs are translated so the game mechanics are easy to understand.
There were a couple of raunchy lines early in the game (e.g. talking about women’s anatomy or undergarments) that seemed out of place. I don’t know what the original lines were, but from the context, I assumed the translators took some liberties with those lines.
