The Legend Of Zelda (Chunky Edition)

Hack of The Legend of Zelda

Description:

Tired of staring at the same-old same-old graphics for 35 years? Sick of games with too much detail? Well, has the person writing this got news for you.

Presenting: The Legend Of Zelda (Chunky Edition), a complete graphics hack that decreases graphical fidelity by almost 100%! Why? Because Zero Meaning could. No other reason (or meaning) is necessary.

This hack is for:

• People who want to experience Zelda in a new way.

• Folk who enjoy cute, chunky art styles.

• Those whose blurry CRTs have almost given up the ghost.

• Pathetic man-children who have tantrums about too much detail in their games.

The base game has been left unchanged. For all intents and purposes, it’s still the same Zelda you know and love with a new (thicker) coat of paint. So don’t worry, you can still block clip (probably). Oh, and Link’s Blue Ring colour has been changed because the original was just ghastly.

Also included is an alternate .IPS with no dungeon floor tiles and reduced detail sand.

Happy adventuring!

Like a window if Zelda were on the Atari 7800!

I love how this hack looks. It feels like if Zelda were ported to the Atari 7800, maybe even the 5200/Atari 8-bit computer. I would say Commodore 64 too, but this uses more than 16 colours. I highly recommend this hack for the different visuals and retro computer look, and if you want a change of pace.
