Hack of DOOM

Description:

Shortly after e-Doctor e-Modder released their Ultimate Doom MAPS ROM Hack, Roebloz wasn’t satisfied. The textures were still the same boring Jaguar Doom variants, and the levels were unoptimized. So, after 4 months of development, Roebloz and Alex Pilipenko present: Doom 32x Delta, a direct port of the PC maps and textures, with framerate optimization, brand new foes, monster infighting, bonus levels, as well Episodes 4 and the John Romero’s custom SIGIL episode as of 2021-04-23’s Ultimate Update, truly making Doom 32x: Delta is not only the definitive Doom 32x experience that truly blows the other level restorations out of the water, and possibly turns the port into the ultimate 90’s Console Doom port experience with PSX Doom only beating it by additional content and lighting effects. The official trailer can also be watched here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tJlCq8LUu80

Although, this comes with a few drawbacks. Said final custom level is incompatible on real hardware as it triggers error messages, and Episode 4 crashes at the end of most maps. Also the hack is slightly incompatible with the highest difficulties on certain maps. (Notably E1M2) Still, it doesn’t prevent Episodes 1 and 2 from functioning perfectly on real hardware and give you a nice experience with the latter half of the adventure using a good old emulator.

Also, with the release of the Ultimate Update (v2.0), it is now possible to play an upgraded version of Roebloz’s Thy Flesh Consumed 32x ROM hack, as well as adding John Romero’s (One of the original developers of the PC version of DOOM) custom fifth Episode, SIGIL, and a teaser for a future update including Final Doom’s Plutonia Experiment!

As mentioned previously, to play this wonderful piece of DOOM technology, you will need to copy your very-legally obtained Doom 32x ROM two times and then patch each ROM with only ONE patch (So basically, have a ROM for Episode 1, another for Episode 2, and a final one for Episode 3.) Episode 1 and 3 are special as they contain a bonus level that allow you to gain some advantages if you manage to beat them. They are in the Level 0 slot.
