An unknown and silent JRPG-pearlReviewed By: Poe on 03 Jan 2021
When I first heard about this game I thought to myself that a Role Playing Game without enemies, weapons and magic stuff might be kind of boring. But my mind changed when I immerged into the story. You’re an unknown protagonist who finds himself, maybe because of destiny, at the train station of the city Ihatovo. At this point you start to discover the city and get to know its inhabitants and animals (!). The game intertwines the “real” stories of the Japanese author Kenji Miyazawa in a way that your kind of fascinated and you want to explore more and more.
The game isn’t too big but while playing I found it somehow meditative when strolling around. The music is nice and different in each chapter. But what I like the most is the way how the game is translated. The “style” is somehow very good and fits well to the game.
Many people might feel bored and disappointed about the game and the story and simply walking around from place to place because there’s really now action, no fight and no final boss - yes, you even might say it’s childish. However I recommend this “silent” JRPG since your getting part of the people, the animals and their destiny. I wish there were more games like this one. And if my knowledge about romhacking wouldn’t be abysmal I would translate this game into my mother tongue to share with those who might have problems with the English language.
