Description:
The focus of this hack is entirely on level design - can you make every item, enemy, and coin placement meaningful? Difficulty is somewhere around a step up from Lost Levels, verging on kaizo-y with some of the tricks towards the end. Save-states shouldn’t be necessary, but it gets pretty tough around world 5, so expect a few game-overs. Remember that you can hold A while pressing Start on the title screen after you game-over to retry from that world.
Features:
- Complete hack - all 32 levels remade
- Challenging without being too difficult
- Unique level themes and gimmicks
- Reasonable 1up placement so you don’t have to spam load-state
Very minor language warning at the end, but you may find it’s well deserved - if you can make it there, that is. Good luck!
Version 1.1 update:
- Some levels changed slightly
- Hidden 1ups added to each -1 stage (no coins required from a previous -3 stage)
- First warp zone is now trickier to access
- Text changed.
Lore for nerds: The Princess is tired of Mario simping on her, so she flees through a series of increasingly difficult worlds to escape him.

Solid level design
Reviewed By: JeffriesTube on 30 Oct 2020Just finished this hack, and have to start by saying I think save states are a good idea. There’s nothing I came across that required glitches to get through, but getting to the end without saving is going to require a lot of time and patience. Some of the level design stuff is very cool, and if the difficulty was toned down a bit, this could easily be one of the best SMB romhacks in my opinion. The parts I thought were great seemed inspired by SMB2J, where you go up vines to progress through areas, something the original SMB didn’t really utilize that much. That level in world 7 where you can go through the bonus stage to beat it was really cool. I’m not normally a fan of kaizo, and this definitely isn’t as insane as some hacks, but the level design is strong, and I’d recommend it. Hope to see more from the author!
