    Pretty good

This is a pretty solid hack. Levels don’t deviate too much from the original feel of the game, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Some areas are better than others and there are a handful of secret areas to find which help stock up a generous amount of lives. I didn’t really get a summer vibe from the actual backgrounds, so really the only things that felt attached to that theme was the powerups being smiling suns. Difficulty scale is a little inconsistent, but overall it does feel like it builds up towards the end of the game. This hack also uses the “straight-forward” fireball adjustment, which mixes things up a bit.

    Overall, worth checking out
