- Special Stage jumping responds to button presses like the normal jump (hold to jump higher)
- Sonic collides with water after being damaged
- Removed speed cap (mentioned above)
- Sonic now has the Super Dash Attack or Spin Dash from Sonic 2
- Fixed the death boundary bug
- Fixed the camera follow bug (barely noticeable in-game)
- Fixed the water palette on the Title Screen to be consistent with gameplay
- Spike Behavior fixed
- Sonic’s walking animation has been tweaked to look like the 2013 mobile version and Sonic movie credits

A Few Minor Issues
Reviewed By: G30FF on 19 May 2020Overall, this is a great hack that accomplishes what it sets out to do. It adds the Sonic 2 style Spindash, it fixes bugs, and improves the game overall. Even the dynamic act palettes are interesting, though I don’t think I would play with them all the time.
There are two issues I have that prevents me from wholeheartedly recommending this patch:
- The title screen “fix” for the water colors are a little odd, and I feel this should be optional. However, that’s only because I’m used to how the title screen looks normally, and I can live with the change.
- Removing the speed cap introduces some unexpected issues with demos. Not just the demos played during the title screen, which the description acknowledges, but also during the ending and credits. For example, the ending sequence right after Final Zone plays so fast the music gets cut off before it ends.
If these were optional patches, this would easily be my preferred way to play. As is, this patch is great, and I do still recommend it as a vanilla plus improvement patch.
