Description:
Super Mario Advance 2 saw the second time Nintendo decided to redraw World Luigi’s sprites, this time having him based off his appearance in the first Super Mario Advance mixed with elements of World’s art style. It’s unknown why Nintendo tried going to this extent to differentiate Luigi’s appearance from Mario’s in 2001, as they already had access to a perfectly fine set of World-style Luigi sprites from roughly seven years prior.
This hack essentially undoes Nintendo’s admittedly odd decision by swapping out the existing, arguably less-appealing Luigi sprites in Super Mario Advance 2 for those found in Super Mario All-Stars + Super Mario World.

"Hahhah! Just what I needed!"
Reviewed By: Valkyrie on 02 Feb 2020Much like the Super Mario Advance 2 Luigi-patch for All Stars + World by TheNintendude64, this lets the fans of Luigi from that incarnation be able to play him in this particular remake, along with receiving all the fun bells and whistles that truly made him to stand out from Mario this time, compared to his previous locked role of 2nd Player slot in All-Stars + World.
It performs as you expect, sans Luigi still fluttering his feet during jumping instead of hopping chest-first to break blocks with his head like in All-Stars. Hopefully that’s not a turn-off for some, but maybe there could be a possibility to patch that as the final touch. (Unless it’s not possible due programming limitations)
I’ve seen how both sides might probably argue which version is more truer to the character than the other, but I personally believe on picking and enjoying what one prefers from them depending on their background or taste. This patch certainly goes complete way to ensure that, so big props for JY for providing the fans of All-Stars Luigi a chance to experience SMA2 with the green’stache they prefer. That includes me, of course~!
Highly recommended.
