Description:
This is an improvement patch for Mega Man III/Rockman 3. It has many improvements to the game + MANY bugfixes that existed originally in MM3.
Anyone is free to use this for their own Mega/Rock 3 hacks, and any new ones in the future.
Please only use the appropriate patch depending on what ROM your using. The megaman3 patch is only for the English version and the rockman3 is only for the Japanese ROM.
The author will not list all the changes here, they are already listed in the readme. A YouTube video was uploaded also to demonstrate many of the changes. Please see the “Video Comments.txt” for the link to the YouTube video and to use as a guide to note the changes you’ll see demonstrated.
An ASM file was used from the Japanese ROM hacker named Puresabe, known best for Rockman 4 MI (Minus Infinity). It implements some gameplay physics mods that he presented to me. NOTE: It already has been applied to both English and Japanese versions of the patch.

Gold Standard for Improvement Hacks
Reviewed By: G30FF on 13 Nov 2019Mega Man 3 is one of my favorite games in the classic series. It was my first, and I admit that leaves me with some nostalgia goggles for it, but I can go back and play it any time. I never really noticed how many minor issues the game had at the time.
That is, until I found this hack.
I’ve been using this romhack for a while now, but have yet to leave a review until now. MM3 Improvement has replaced vanilla MM3 for me. Using select to cycle through weapons is fantastic. The added sound effects breathe new life into the game. Seeing the Gemini Man planet restored is terrific. All of the little bugfixes add up to a great experience. And the new intro cutscene is gorgeous. This hack took a game I already loved and made it even better. And it makes me so glad to see so many Mega Man 3 romhacks, including Mega Man 3 Revamped (a new favorite of mine), use this as a base. Highly recommended!
