I made an unfair review before based on some super subjective issues I had. The author reached out to me to not only thank me for my lack of recommendation but offered to even help me make the changes to make it what I wanted (I had done this before but some of the newer changes would have taken a lot more time to revert/change). But I was not being honest with myself that I wouldn't recommend the romhack after I literally followed it for 2 years on the forum. It deserves recommendations even if its to use as a base for your own personal changes.

The right touch

Reviewed By: andrewclunn on 07 Nov 2019

This is basically a whole lot of quality of life hacks that make it really difficult to go back to the original afterwards. Honestly the only tweak to gameplay that I think still remains would be a slightly more forgiving wall-jump, and then this would be totally in line with the more streamlined GBA games.

There was a problem with other auto run patches, in that it (rightfully) delayed the running speed kick in, which makes certain areas impossible to do without building up speed through means that are not “standard playthrough.” This hack addresses that by reducing the time to activate the speed boosters so that, even if you haven’t hit max speed yet, you can still boost to get through (which, ala project base no longer drains your life).

Not a huge fan of the sped up transitions, but there are optional patches to remove that. Overall the best way to go back and experience the original that presently exist.
