Thunder Force IV - PAL to NTSC-U Region Fix

Hack of Lightening Force: Quest for the Darkstar

Description:

The main purpose of this hack is to change the region of the European release of Thunder Force IV from PAL to NTSC-U so that it can be played on original NTSC-U hardware.

Why Sega decided to change the name from “Thunder Force IV” to “Lightening Force” is still a mystery!

What an odd way to remedy this.

Region hacks have a trend of making the game faster than it already should be. They tend to be at around 1.2x, with some exceptions not adding speed (the Sonic CD one that’s done right for example).

The fact that there’s a hack that changes the name of the NTSC version to Thunder Force IV already would obsolete this one, but I suppose if you’re looking for a bit of difficulty spike in a SHMUP this would help.
