Description:
Adds a moderate rapid-fire capability to the basic weapon and shotgun special weapon (”cheerios”). It is intentionally slightly less effective than the 3-way weapon’s rapidfire (one less bullet fired per button press), but much easier on the thumb than one bullet per press, and still allows charging of the laser while the gun is firing (which a rapidfire controller would not). This should make the game significantly easier.

Not bad but not perfect
Reviewed By: POWCo-op on 25 Jan 2019I recommend the patch because it’s an autofire. But is it perfect? After just three or four seconds of pressing down the button, I still fire a beam. That means I’ll be forced to use a beam when I don’t want to. So I have to stop pressing every couple seconds, which can get annoying. The patch encounters this difficulty because 1943 has three attacks and NES has two buttons. One is fire which charges up a beam when you hold it, and the second is a full screen attack. There could be a solution somewhere that I’m not seeing.
