Description:
Ayrton Senna’s Super Monaco GP II for the Genesis was one of the best racing games released for the SEGA console: it was by no means a realistic simulation (cars behave with a distinct arcade feeling) but it provided a good sense of speed, adequate challenge and some features which were quite innovative at the time (such as slipstreaming and variable weather).
Unfortunately, it lacked an official FIA/FOCA license, meaning that all the teams and drivers were made up.
This patch addresses the issue, applying the following changes:
- Corrected driver names and nationalities
- Replaced drivers portraits with new ones converted from photographs
- Corrected team names, chassis and engines
- Corrected liveries for all cars
- Replaced team badges with new ones drawn from scratch
Next version will also include new trackside ads.

Reviewed By: viktorcc on 04 Sep 2018The patch is spot on, the teams and drivers are changed, this is great work, but there are some things to improve (if it can be done)
- Morbidelli’s nationality is listed as IT, not ITA which it should be.
- About nationalities,it would be nice to have an option if the full name of the countries could be included rather than the abbreviated 3 letter countries (Great Britain instead of GBR, Italy instead of ITA, and so on)
- A patch option to include the abbreviated names of the drivers (like A.Senna, N.Mansell , A.Prost and so on)
I think these little things would improve this 1991 season patch, some of this like changing the nationalities is something that even the vanilla version gets wrong saying N.Jones was from England instead of Great Britain.
