Description:
The purpose of this hack was to take the same approach Nintendo took with Ocarina of Time: Master Quest. Numerous Zelda games have a second quest in one form or another, and the author felt that A Link to the Past deserved a similar treatment. The dungeons have detours, rearranged items, tougher enemies, and an intermediate difficulty level. However, an optional “Double Heart Damage” patch is included for those looking for a greater challenge.

Wish Hyrule Castle and Escape Were Different
Reviewed By: Ender of Games on 23 Dec 2017In this version there are just harder enemies that are more keen to Link’s whereabouts in these locations. I guess the creator didn’t want to change any room sizes or locations, just what is in them, and that just sucks for Hyrule Castle.
I was unsure if I thought the new puzzles were just reordered rooms or if I was just jaded in playing a lot of LttP through randomizers and such. Later in the hack there were some new puzzles and changed puzzles that made me happy, and upon completion I find that I liked this hack. In Ganon’s Tower I was actually stuck for quite some time. It is worth a playthrough from most, if not all, LttP veterans.
Since the overworld is mostly unchanged there is no point where you are stuck wondering where to go, but in the DW it feels as if there is a little more freedom in which order you complete dungeons. I find this a little odd, as some early DW dungeons can be easier to complete with items from later dungeons. This aspect only makes it easier for players to move forward if they get stuck on these earlier dungeons, and does not remove from the hack’s quality in the end.
