Tear Ring Saga: Yutona Eiyuu Senki is a turn based strategy game for the PlayStation.
The sixth game in the Fire Emblem franchise, Tear Ring Saga, completely unrelated to Fire Emblem, is a strategy RPG created by Shouzou Kaga, the creator of Fire Emblem. It’s Fire Emblem in all but name, even if its development cycle was quite troubled and caused a lot of lawsuits to take place. The game is similar to Fire Emblem Gaiden, bringing back the world map and the concept of two split parties. It’s also one of the longest games in the “franchise”. This game spawned two sequels, both directed by Kaga: Berwick Saga, moving away from the Fire Emblem style, and Vestaria Saga, which returned back to it.
Translation Description:
This is a major update to the Tear Ring Saga translation by ayashii gamesubs in 2001, which can be found here: http://www.romhacking.net/translations/1746/
The original patch had been fully translated, but had too many bugs and programming issues to be usable. This new patch retranslated much of the script and eliminated all show-stopping bugs and errors.

Not a faithful translation, but still great

The author took liberties and has made many alterations to the script, including several very significant plot points (the full list of changes can be found on serenesforest forums). I can’t say those changes are bad, but just keep in mind that this is not a very faithful translation.
It’s great nevertheless and I very much enjoyed playing the game with this patch. But I do hope to play a “normal” version someday.
