Description:
This is a hack of the bootleg game Kart Fighter developed by Hummer Team in 1993/1994. The hack changes all the Japanese names of characters into the North American versions. It also changes the title screen to say “SMASH BROS.” without “SUPER” to imply that this came before Super Smash Bros. on the Nintendo 64. If someone wants to make a Kart Fighter hack to make it look like Super Smash Bros. even more than the publisher of this hack did (such as fixing the sprites), it would be a good idea to use this patch as a starting point. Use Lunar IPS for patching.

Reviewed By: RealGaea on 27 Mar 2017The concept is plain good. Even you gave Hummer Team some credit! However the logo needs a few tweaks, Mario and Luigi must swap colors, the title must go up and the credits down. Or put Retro Smash Bros.
Regarding the game, it could go in two directions.
- Make an actual Smash Bros fangame (leaving Mario & Luigi and adding Samus, Pikachu, Capt. Falcon, Link, and Fox. No, no Kirby this time.)
- Redraw all the sprites to match the official designs and powers. Want to make Toad a grappler, as a nod to SMB2/USA? Add Wario and DK replacing Koopa Troopa and DK Jr.?
This is a goldmine, because is one of the good fighting game engine Hummer Team has made.
