A fine hack marred by the change of Mega Man's physics.

First of all, this is a very nice hack with lots of hacking work put into the game. I commend the hacker Tatsu for creating such a nice game with improvements to the graphics, new enemies and old enemies from other MM games, nice level layouts and balanced gameplay. Oh and also very nice change to the weapons and items as well. Just about everything to this hack is wonderful EXCEPT for ONE CRUCIAL aspect: the change to MM’s physics. May I ask WHY??

MM2(and MM1) is known to have GREAT physics/mechanics when it comes to MM’s movement, etc. It feels natural and flows well like great platformers such as Super Mario and Little Samson. The removal of the Floor Friction to match MM’s crippled physics in MM3&6 is NOT THE WAY TO GO. If the hacker had not done that, or perhaps included a separate patch that does not change MM’s physics, this would have been a VERY good hack. The removal of the Floor Friction, thus changing MM’s physics, is a HUGE blow to this hack. IMO.

Now the positives: just about everything else! I love the new weapons as they greatly enhances the gameplay and very refreshing for a MM2 game. Levels are nicely designed and the graphics are beautifully made to complement each stage. The inclusion of new and old enemies are wonderful…and there are LOTS of them!

Overall, it’s a nice hack and could’ve been a VERY good one. So I still recommend it as it is still a nice MM hack. I could’ve been a GREAT MM2 hack if only the creator did not change MM’s physics. Hope Tatsu will come out with a new version that includes a patch that doesn’t change MM’s physics.
