An epic improvement!

Requested Euclid to make something like this years ago, but he was unsure how to implement it. This is a really outstanding hack! I’m actually recommending it for all the past and future Zelda 3 hacks, so long as we update our control schemes a bit to make it compatible with other hacks around (such as skipping monologues with the “L” button and using superbombs with the “R” button).

Here’s my Current Control Scheme:

  • D-Pad (Move)
  • L (skip monologue, switch inventory screens)
  • R (superbomb only, switch inventory screens)
  • A button (Talk, Run, Lift/Throw, Push/Pull
  • B button (Attack)
  • Y button (Use item)
  • X button (galaxy guide only)
  • Select button (save menu)
  • Start button (inventory)

Which I’ll probably change it into:

  • D-Pad (Move)
  • L (switch items, switch inventory screens)
  • R (switch items, switch inventory screens)
  • A button (Talk, Run, Lift/Throw, Push/Pull)
  • B button (Attack) + (skip monologue when you are reading one)
  • Y button (Use item)
  • X button (create superbomb and galaxy guide when selected)
  • Select button (save menu)
  • Start button (inventory)

So no longer needing to open the menu every time you need to switch between items is definitely a much welcome improvement. Much thanks for bringing this into ALTTP. This will do well with certain puzzles which require the use of multiple items!

Epic work right here!
