Game Description:
Nushi Tsuri Adventure: Kite no Bouken is a role playing game for the Game Boy Color.
Translation Description:
All game dialogue is translated, and all the menu/system text that the author, JaytheHam, could find (presumably all of it). The author did two quick playthroughs of the translated game, so neither the author nor Robert (the translator) have seen every line of the English text in-game, there may be translations that aren’t perfect or formatting errors, email JaytheHam if you find anything.
v2.0 no longer writes to inaccessible RAM so it should work on real hardware - but hasn’t been thoroughly tested.
v1.0 has been thoroughly tested but the ASM the author wrote to double the number of characters per line writes to a section of RAM that’s unwritable on real hardware, so it won’t work properly on real devices and some more accurate emulators, use an emulator such as NO$GMB or BGB if you notice the text overlapping itself.
Some of the fish names are a bit butchered to fit in the allowed space, the author extended the max length to 15 characters, but that’s not long enough for a lot of the proper names, and going longer causes silly bugs in the fishing notes and when a fish is caught or escapes that would have taken far too much time to fix.

Reviewed By: Reelizm on 29 Mar 2015Finally had the chance to look at this one. Seems the text will space out properly using BGB by switching off locked ram emulation in the exceptions options. Wouldn’t blame the VBA boys if they never included that tweak. Anyway, nicely done; the font is great considering the constraint, and dialogue flows well. Haven’t played it through yet, but what I’ve seen is quite promising. Hesitant thumbs up.
