I was really impressed with Install Metal. It makes major improvements to the MM5 engine, removing the enemy i-frames, charging while sliding and retaining charge when hit, increasing Rush Coil’s hitbox, and virtually eliminating game lag.

Tilesets, boss AI, and weapon functionality are all new. Almost everything in the game has been tweaked to give it a unique feel. It’s a rare romhack with the robustness of a fangame.

Quick weapon switching and faster cutscenes make it well-suited for speedrunning as well. Very highly recommended.
