Description:
The purpose of this hack was to take the same approach Nintendo took with Ocarina of Time: Master Quest. Numerous Zelda games have a second quest in one form or another, and the author felt that A Link to the Past deserved a similar treatment. The dungeons have detours, rearranged items, tougher enemies, and an intermediate difficulty level. However, an optional “Double Heart Damage” patch is included for those looking for a greater challenge.

Reviewed By: Darklink7884 on 22 Mar 2014It’s true that the overworld remains unchanged and the naming screen glitched up, but other than that, this Master Quest IS worthy of its name. The dungeons are not tweaks of existing ones; all of them have detours and harder enemies just like the Master Quest version of Ocarina of Time, the big chest locations have changed, and the contents of many treasure chests have changed. However, the Hyrule Castle dungeon hasn’t changed much at all.
If there’s anything this Master Quest is missing, the lovely title screen wasn’t added and the dungeon maps do not show the new big chest locations. Other than that, this hack is pretty identical to the Master Quest version of Ocarina of Time. This is actually the second attempt at making a Master Quest version of A Link to the Past; however, the first one isn’t that great.
