Mega Man III - ICFE

Hack of Mega Man 3

Description:

THE HACK: Basically,it modifies all the levels, and it mods not only the AI of most bosses (some though, only have minor changes here and there) but it also re-balances the weapons, which in the original MM3 which were not very well balanced out.

Lastly, there’s some minor graphical changes here and there( mostly palette changes, some additional tiles were added, like the title screen)

Constructive criticism is absolutely welcome.

Impressive Level Design

Reviewed By: Megafield64 on 08 Jan 2014

MMIII-ICFE has to have the best level design in a hack in a long time. Each and every stage has its own twist and there many clever puzzles based on mechanics that were barely used in the original, such as using the Magnet Flies to cross over spikes in Magnet Man’s stage. And, I absolutely loved the part in Gemini Man’s stage that mimicked Centaur Man’s reverse body of water along the ceiling. My only complaint is that there are palettes used within the game that make it hard to differentiate the physical ground from the background. It would be nice within these areas the palettes were changed so that the physical ground would “pop out” in contrast to the backdrops. Otherwise, a very awesome hack.
