For some unknown reason, the site claimed my account doesn’t exist, so I recreated it using my E-mail and wanted to check if a small edit works just as fine.

Due to the fact that CajeASM hasn't been updated by me for many years, still has some odd bugs regarding instruction counter and due to the fact that (nowadays) better alternatives exist now, I've decided to delete this tool from this website. An alternative assembler I can recommend is bass, currently maintained by ARM9. To be found here: https://github.com/ARM9/bass

Upon further play, I discovered this hack broke an integral system to the game (the dash function).

Super Mario Bros: Fast Foes

Hack of Super Mario Bros.

Description:

This hack is identical to the original game, but the enemies are slightly faster than normal. This includes the powerups and moving platforms, too. It’s interesting how this physics tweak causes the ‘feel’ of certain levels to change - 2-2 and 6-2, for instance, seem much more hectic and hostile.

(This is inspired by the Fast Foe Comet.)

Adds Challenge

Reviewed By: Megafield64 on 02 Jan 2014

This little hack proves to be both challenging and comical at the same time. I almost fell off my seat laughing at how ridiculously fast the Goombas were moving the first timed I loaded it up. Not only do the enemies run faster, but so do the power-ups. While I haven’t tried this myself yet, but I believe this would be a nice patch to add to some of the hard SMB hacks to give them a little more edge.
