Rockman Cross X

Hack of Mega Man 5

Description:

Rockman Cross X is a hack for Rockman 5: Blues no Wana (not the overseas version, Mega Man 5) that changes the game into a boss-rush type with very little focus on platforming. All the bosses have been rewritten, giving each one new attacks not seen yet.

This hack is playable up to the second fortress stage, and features a good number of secret weapons and bosses. You may also enter a pure boss-rush where every boss is confronted in a random order by pressing Select on the title screen.

Very difficult, but worth playing

Reviewed By: Satoshi_Matrix on 25 Dec 2012

Despite being a hack of the fifth and easiest of the Megaman classic games, Cross X is HARD. This is a save-state only game. Without save states you won’t even stand a chance.

Of all Megaman hacks, this is one of the more interesting you’ll find. With almost no focus on level designs, this one is entirely about the boss battles, with sophisticated enemy AI that even experienced Megaman players will have trouble with.

As the battles with each of the bosses progress, they’ll change tactics to their “overdrive” modes which makes them increasingly more difficult to hit while avoiding their attacks.

You have at your disposal unique weapons as well, such as one that allows you to instantly fire charge shots.

The Megabuster is now less powerful and bosses are far more deadly. Do you have the skills to beat this masterful hack?
