Digimon World 2003 NTSC

Hack of Digimon World 3

Description:

Digimon World 2003 NTSC Patch that makes Digimon World 2003 run as NTSC

Why? Digimon World 3 has 3 versions

  • Digimon World 3 US (NTSC)
  • Digimon World 3 JP (NTSC)
  • Digimon World 2003 (PAL)

Out of the 3 versions only JP and 2003 have the post game, and only US and JP run in 60 fps (NTSC). This patch makes 2003 run in 60 fps on an NTSC console.

Some emulators will not run this correctly

  1. RetroArch
  • Beetle HW - won’t run properly (sound desync)
  • ReArmed - will run properly, you have to force region to NTSC
  • SwanStation - runs properly out of the box
  1. PCSX-Redux - runs properly out of the box
  2. Duckstation - runs properly out of the box
  3. Real Hardware - untested, should in theory run fine on a NTSC console

Works great on console!

Reviewed By: r1ggles on 26 Sep 2023

I can confirm that it works on a PAL-region console at proper 60Hz speed, an xstation, RGB-Scart and a CRT (EU CRT TV’s sync 50-60Hz range, the unpatched 50Hz original results in a squashed 50Hz flickery image).

However with Swanstation in RetroArch (CRTSwitchres setup, PC and Pi4) I had to set NTSC for the games core options in the quick menu for it to play at 60Hz and not 50.
