Description:
The Jaleco version of Rampart for the Nintendo Entertainment System uses DPCM samples for music and sound effects. Recently it was discovered that said samples suffer from an encoding issue known as bit-reversal. This hack fixes the samples to improve the audio quality. Most notably, clarity has been restored to voice clips including “Ready, aim, fire!”.
