Description:
Lots of hacks for Final Fantasy VI for the SNES (Ted Woolsey Uncensored Edition, Revised Old Style Edition, etc.) tend to change the title screen from the English Final Fantasy III logo to that of the original Japanese title screen (with the corrected name and Amano artwork). They also remove Ted Woolsey’s name from the opening credit sequence. Loads of these use the Titlescreen Mod hack by Yazoo as a base.
However, lots of these hacks tend to forget that Woolsey’s name appears in the end credits as well! Therefore, the idea of this hack was born: Final Fantasy VI Woolsey Removed does just that; it removes Woolsey’s name from the end credits sequence. This is not intended as a replacement for Yazoo’s hack, but rather, as a companion piece to it. It can also be used as a base for other ROM hacks that change Final Fantasy VI in various ways, either to make the game closer to the Japanese original, to create fan translations or script edits, or anywhere between and beyond!
This hack should be patched to a headered or headerless 1.0 or 1.1 US ROM of Final Fantasy VI (using the patch corresponding to the type of ROM), but it can theoretically be patched to ANY hack for the US version of the game that doesn’t modify the end credits in any way.
Enjoy!
