Description:
This is a difficulty and enhancement hack of HeartGold that addresses the infamous level curve of HeartGold, presents the player with more available Pokémon (each with their own substantial buffs and reworks), adds new events for gym leaders and other characters, and adds encounters for some legendary Pokémon that weren’t in the original game (Mew, Celebi, all three of the weather trio, and both Latias and Latios). Every other Pokémon, including Hoenn and Sinnoh Pokémon, are available to the player! Currently, the list of unobtainable Pokémon includes: Regirock, Registeel, Regice, Deoxys, Jirachi, Uxie, Mesprit, Azelf, Dialga, Palkia, Heatran, Regigigas, Giratina, Cresselia, Darkrai, Phione, Manaphy, and Shaymin.
In 1.9.1, updated Pokémon base stats, typings, and movepools have been included, as well as a reworking of every trainer in the game! Gym leaders should pose more of a challenge now and Kanto is a proper post-game area complete with levels around or higher than Lance. More of an emphasis has been placed on Johto Pokémon being used by trainers in the game as this is a common complaint of the original games. Other features such as singleplayer Wonder Trading and a music player on the player’s PC in New Bark are added as well – this is not purely a balance hack.
Additionally, Challenge Mode is available for people looking for an even more difficult experience. The differences between this mode and Normal Mode are: all gym leaders use 6 Pokémon, each with good type coverage, moves and perfect or near perfect IVs, and no EVs are given after defeating any Pokémon in the game.
