The Game Gear version of Ristar will display localization differences depending on the region of the hardware it’s played on. This small IPS patch reinstates the following localization elements to the game regardless of hardware:

• “The Shooting Star” subtitle;

• The 1st level of planet Terra and its intro, which are skipped on western systems;

• The level’s song, “Ring Rink”, which would not play since the level was skipped;

• The “Ring Rink” song omitted from the Music Theater.

All levels retain their western names.

Please note that unlike some Game Genie codes found online for the game, this does not simply cut into the 1st level of Terra while neglecting the associated strings; it repoints to existing data in order to make the process seamless.

Lunar IPS is required to patch the game.
