Recent Updates

  • Hacks
Added the following features: - All the shine sprite models have been tinted green, including the ones on the episode select menus and the monument one in Delfino Plaza. - The Shadow Mario wanted poster in Delfino Airstrip has been changed to a wanted poster of Shadow Luigi. - Various shine sprite images have been tinted green. Updated the list of things it still needs by adding these previously unmentioned problems: - The FLUDD nozzles don't always render correctly. - The Luigi model lacks many of the texture-altering features of the original Mario model, such as visibly getting dirty from the goop or closing his eyes when he goes to sleep. - The level entry portals are still "M"s instead of "L"s. - The goop originally at Delfino Airstrip is still in the shape of a Mario head with an "M" above it instead of a Luigi head with an "L" above it. I also added in the description that people should explain how they created the new assets they make for this mod to me so I can more easily alter them if necessary. And I changed two of the pictures to show off the newly green tinted shine sprite models and textures.

Item Shop Change

Hack of Seiken Densetsu 3

Description:

Seiken Densetsu 3 / Trials of Mana – Item Shop Change

v1.1, by hmsong

The Item Shop in the game felt lacking, especially in the beginning (that’s where you need the most!). And the items in the Byzel Black Market were way too overpowered. And, the normal seeds needed more love. So, this patch changes numerous items available in the shops.

Hopefully, none of the new shop items will end up screwing up any events (will Dreamsee Herb screw up the events in the beginning of the game for certain characters?). If any of you notice something, then please PM hmsong, so he can fix it.

Some notes:

  • All semi-rare seeds are available in Byzel, including Magic Seed. That ought to make money more meaningful, especially at the end of the game.
  • Dreamsee Herb and Dart are available in all item shops.
  • The price for most sold items increased (so that they can be abused less, at least in the beginning).
  • All seeds heal less (instead of 50 HP) on all allies. Now that Item Seed is available everywhere, this was specifically to prevent the heal abuse in the beginning of the game.

See the attached document for details.

Applying Notes:

  • This is specifically for No Header ROM. If you only have a Headered ROM, then you can use TUSH (https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/608/) to remove the header.
  • Compatible with the English NCorlett-translation patch. But again, you need a Unheadered ROM. If you are using the translation patch from Romhacking.net, then you need to apply the translation to a Headered ROM first, then use TUSH to remove the header. And then you can apply my patches.
  • Compatible with the new Trials of Mana ROM, released in 2019. But again, you need a Unheadered ROM.

There are other hacks for Seiken Densetsu 3 that you should check out:

Sin of Mana

  • This changes the contents of the game in many ways, such as stat changes, equipment changes, class balance, difficulty, boss behaviors, running in battles, MP regeneration, dungeon format, and tons of bug fixes. It’s a completely new game though, since so much has changed from the original game (especially character spells).
  • There is also a forum (google “Sin of Mana forum”), where you can ask the creator (praetarius5018) numerous questions. He is very helpful, and even helps you to create your own hack.
  • Sin of Mana is NOT compatible with the new Trials of Mana.
  • Sin of Mana is NOT compatible with hmsong’s patches.

If you have any questions or find errors, please PM hmsong on Romhacking.net (click the name, then click the name next to “Forum Account”, then click “Send PM”).
