A “Roaring ’90s” extravaganza, on 7/30/2018 eskayelle released v3.9.9 of his Double Z Mod of the SNES classic, NBA Jam Tournament Edition. Enhancements to the original game included the following:

• Forget the Rookies! Now play as the 1992 Dream Team!
• Bugs from the original game have been fixed, i.e., the Grand Champions and Injuries bugs.
• Assets from the original game have been restored, such as the Mortal Kombat banners.
• Battle the 27 NBA teams from worst to first, based on 1992-93 conference standings and playoffs results.
• Tons of new secret characters, including Hulk Hogan, David Hasselhoff, Arnie (as the T-800), and more!
• Play as the 72-10 1996 Chicago Bulls!
• Play as the Motor City Bad Boys!
• Play as “The Worm”, Dennis Rodman, on at least four teams!
• Play as a new Underdogs team, pairing up some secret characters and other interesting match-ups.
• Expanded rosters are now as easy as inputting the Konami code.

2018, 2019 UPDATES (v3.9.9.7 thru v4.0.2):

• 8/23/18: Modified certain secret players to give them a more “arcadey” feel, including power-up dunks, max power, etc., depending on the secret player selected. Soar to new heights with Air Jordan!
• 9/3/18: Added revised title screen, as developed by phonymike.
• 9/3/18: Added a Konami code derivative based on TMNT II - The Arcade Game for the NES. Try B, A, B, A, Up, Down, B, A, Left, Right, B, A within the selection menu at the title screen. (Don’t forget to try the original Konami Code too!)
• 9/4/18: Added Dominique Wilkins to the Atlanta Hawks to provide that team an expanded roster.
• 9/8/18: Revised court colors for Team U.S.A. and Underdogs.
• 9/13/18: Bug fix to ensure players 3 or 4, after beating all 27 NBA teams, can access the Underdogs team.
• 9/23/18: Release of v3.9.9.7, with updates per above.
• 1/22 & 1/23/19: Removed the legal screens in favor of a new credits intro.
• 2/16/19: Release of v4.0! Replaced various announcer sound clips with some serious ’90s sound bytes. Just try not to smile when you hear the Macho Man chime in… or Ric Flair… WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
• 9/5: With the release of v4.0.2, you can now play as Jean Claude Van Damme! Use initials DAM, and hold Start while pressing Y when selecting the letters D and M. Also, an expanded list of special opponents will step up to battle your team once you beat the campaign mode. And… special thanks again to phonymike for the snazzy new title screen!

12/13/2020 UPDATE (v5.0):

• Various portrait updates based on NBA Jam 2K21 TE player portraits.
• Expanded secret player table AND allowance for record saving and campaign mode play.
• Team select screen allows backward cycling through player combinations.
• Update to play full/longer announcer sound clips.
• Play as Benny the Bull in all his red glory!
• End of quarter/game shoe and tile dimming bugfix.
• Options menu color bug fix.
• Sound clip added when successfully entering a Konami code on the Start menu.
